The Italian fashion house has teamed up with Italian pasta brand Pastificio Di Martino to launch a new collection for the holiday season – and it’s edible!
Dolce & Gabbana is working with the family-owned dried pasta maker Di Martino. Based in the Italian city of Gragnano, which actually has a Protected Geographic Indication for its pasta, the company is also the James Beard Foundation’s official pasta partner.
They are set to produce a limited edition tin of noodles along with a D&G-designed apron that will retail around $110. Of the 5,000 that will be available worldwide, less than 1,000 will be available in the United States.
The Italian luxury brand specifically designed the packaging for the pasta shapes, along with the custom-designed smock, but left the original recipe to Di Martino, who has been in the business since 1912.
Giuseppe Di Martino, the CEO of his family’s company, called the product a “postcard, a souvenir, a special package with the exceptional product inside.” The good news for those interested in picking one up is that starting November 15, you can buy them online at dimartinodolcegabbana.com as well as at select high-end food retailers.
