Bake-Off Fans Rejoice
Fans of the Great British Bake off can rejoice as Netflix has released the next big baking show but this time it’s celebrating cake failures rather than winners.
Cake fails are an internet sensation with images of disastrous baking attempts filling newsfeeds and Pinterest pages. Now this hilarious online thread is coming to the streaming service for all of us to watch and judge together.
Cake Fails Becomes Real
Nailed It is a show that has brought together some of the worst aspiring bakers out there to compete in one outrageous cooking show. The aim of the show is to ultimately make the contestants better bakers and to improve their culinary skills, however as they recreate popular cakes the outcome may not exactly match the original to put it lightly.
The series is hosted by comedian Nicole Byer who is joined by a panel of judges that includes Jacques Torres, haute chocolatier and a special guest, usually a professional baker, cake designer or YouTube sensation.
Watch and Judge at Home Now
All six episodes of Nailed It!’s first season are now available to watch on Netflix and given the reaction by the people who’ve watched it, it could well rival Bake Off.
“My whole body hurts from wheezing so hard at Nailed It. This show is so, so great. Honestly, grab yourself a mimosa and watch it,” one fan enthused, with another jokingly adding that it “cured my depression, made my skin clear, and brought my dead dog back from the grave.”
Nailed It really succeeds in pointing out just how much work goes into our made-for-social media moments. And the home baker who comes closest to success with their creation wins $10,000.
Not too shabby a prize for baking a disaster, season one is available on Netflix now.
